For the geek who has everything
First announced ages ago, causing geeks the world over to drool into their existing keyboards, Art Lebedev Studio introduced the Optimus OLED concept keyboard.
Every key had an individual OLED (Organic Light-emitting Diode) display, allowing each key to show a different character, or picture, controlled by software. The possibilities were obvious. Playing Quake? Each key can display the relevant movement and weapon choices. Using Photoshop? Each key can display the relevant tool icon. Sharing a computer with people of different nationalities? Change the keyboard to a different language at the click of a mouse button (or keystroke).
It looks like the day of dreams has arrived. Art Lebedev Studio has announced that it will be taking pre-orders from May 20th, on a first-come, first-served basis. The price will be a modest $1,564.
Good thing my new credit card arrived in the post today...
